TRINITY Methodist Church, Radcliffe Street, Royton, is celebrating Fairtrade fortnight by selling Fairtrade goods and groceries during a coffee morning on Thursday, from 9am to noon.


ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild will host its AGM and charity cheque presentation evening on Tuesday, March 8, at Royton Town Hall from 7.30pm. The event is also the perfect chance for visitors to find out what the guild is all about. Entrance costs £2 for members and £3 for visitors, including refreshments.

FIND out more about Oldham’s first historian and radical reformer James Butterworth during at talk at Royton Local History Society on Monday, March 14. The talk, by Dr Robert Poole, looks at the life and work of the 19th century historian, freemason, journalist, poet and postmaster. The talk takes place at Downey House, Church Street, Royton, at 7.30pm. Members free, visitors £1.50 including refreshments.


PLANS for a first-floor side extension above an existing garage at 2 Devonport Crescent, Royton, have been approved.


JOIN the Little Wrigglers at Royton Health and Wellbeing Centre every Monday during term time. Open from 10 to 11am for fun and stimulating activities for children up to 18 months.


TAKE on a challenge for Dr Kershaw’s by signing up for this year’s Hospice to Hospice Walk on April 24. The walk takes participants from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Royton to Springhill Hospice in Rochdale and back. Registration, costing £7, is now open at www.drkershawshospice.org.uk.
