NEWMAN College head teacher Mike McGhee released two white doves during a leavers’ mass for Year 11 pupils at the Chadderton secondary on Friday.





MILLS Hill Baptist Church, Mills Hill Road, holds a garden party (weather permitting) from 2pm on Saturday.



FIND out more about Mossley’s industrial past with Chadderton Historical Society. Members are visiting the town’s industrial heritage centre in the former Longlands Mill on Thursday, July 3. Meet at Victoria Street car park at 6.30pm (earlier than usual) to arrange transport.



CHIEF Supt Nick Adderley will be the guest speaker at the next Chadderton HomeWatch meeting at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley Street, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, July 8. New members are welcome.



CHILDREN with cerebral palsy can take part in football sessions for five to 16-year-olds with Chadderton Sports Club. They take place form 10am to noon on Sunday (June 29) and Sunday, July 13, at Oldham Academy North, Broadway, Royton. THE sun will come out on July 7, 8 and 9 for pupils at Radclyffe School, Hunt Lane, who are staging the musical “Annie”. Performances start at 7pm and tickets cost £2, £6 for a family of four.



CHILDREN and families can play free mini-tennis at Chadderton Hall Park, Chadderton Hall Road, from 1 to 4pm on Saturday, July 19, as part of the Great British Tennis Weekend.
