Alex is a star among stars

BRAVE Alex Vaughan has enjoyed a celeb-packed party to reward his courage during chemotherapy treatment.

The Chadderton eight year old was one of 21 youngsters across the country invited to be ambassadors for Cancer Research UK’s “Little Stars” awards.

Alex was invited to the London party with his parents Kim and Luke.

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital iagnosed Alex with acute leukaemia in January 2013. Alex had four weeks of intense chemotherapy and joined a clinical trial.

He will receive maintenance chemotherapy until 2017, but is back at Christ Church primary school full-time and is responding well to treatment.

Guests at the space-themed party included Robin Windsor and Kristina Rihanoff from Strictly Come Dancing, TV presenter Gaby Roslin and EastEnders stars Maddy Hill, Maisie Smith and Jamie Borthwick.
