Health shake-up, shaping the future
Date published: 25 July 2014
OLDHAMERS are being urged to give their views and help to shape the future for Oldham as a major transformation in healthcare gets under way.
Radical plans to reconfigure Greater Manchester’s hospitals mean the Royal Oldham could be turned into a specialist hospital.
Under the plans, which have been developed over the past two years, Royal Oldham Hospital will be one of up to five specialist hospitals dealing with the most severely ill patients with a “single service” team of staff working together across different hospitals.
The “Healthier Together” review of health and care across the region aims to give the public better access to services and deliver better quality care.
People can talk to leading clinicians and share their views at an event at Chadderton Town Hall on Thursday, August 14, 10.30am-1pm.
