Foxdenton fund-raiser

FOXDENTON and District Protection Group is holding a fund-raising evening at Nimble Nook Social Club, Foxdenton Lane, on Saturday.

Live music includes ukulele band Barnhowlers Banjo, from the George Formby Appreciation Society, and Stomp-box Clive. Tickets priced £6.50 (under-10s free) are available from the club, Christina at 403 Foxdenton Lane and Howard at 34 Thatch Leach.


THE Radclyffe School on Hunt Lane is holding an open evening for prospective pupils and their parents from 6 to 9pm tonight.


CHADDERTON and District Home Watch holds it annual general meeting at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley Street, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 14. The guest speaker is Inspector Karen Taylor. Alan Matthews will step down as the group’s secretary and treasurer at the meeting after holding the posts for three years.

LEARN and share new skills at Chadderton Craft Cafe. It meets every Friday from 11am to 1pm at Chadderton Over-60s Centre, Broadway. Admission is £1, with refreshments available to buy.


FIND out more about the History of Denshaw at tomorrow’s Chadderton Historical Society meeting. Mike Buckley, from Saddleworth Historical Society, will be the guest speaker at Chadderton FC, Andrew Street, at 7.30pm.
