Tributes to optician Llew, 104

A FORMER Chadderton optician and pharmacist has died at the age of 104.
Llewelyn Patch ran T.B. Patch Ltd, an opticians and pharmacy, at Butler Green.
Mr Patch was a keen photographer and former president of Oldham Photographic Society.
His daughter Maureen Barber said: “All the comments we keep receiving from his friends and former colleagues at the photography society remember him as a man who always had a smile on his face.
“He had the most lovely smile and he was well respected by his community.”
Mr Patch and his late wife Alice married in 1933 and moved from Oldham to Bardsea in Cumbria after retiring.
He died on November 11 at Furness General Hospital after suffering a fall and pneumonia.
