A TALENTED singer has been picked to compete in Miss Galaxy UK.

Bethany Allt (18), the reigning Miss Galaxy Oldham, hopes to use the event to boost her career.

In her role as Miss Galaxy Oldham, Bethany, who works at B&Q, appears at store openings and hosts her own charity events. She was selected for Miss Galaxy England after winning the regional title in August..

“I’m a bit nervous but I’m in it for the experience. I’m hoping to use this to get my foot in the door,” she said. “My ambition is to be involved in the entertainment industry.”

Bethany is due to host her first evening at the Blue Club, Chadderton, on Friday, December 12, in aid of The Christie.

She said: “I’ve been singing since I was a young girl and I have been performing in pubs around Manchester for the past two years. I’ve no previous experience of modelling. I would love to pursue this further.”

The final of the competition will be held near Preston on February 6.
