Website launched by Foxdenton developer

Date published: 16 December 2014

A WEBSITE designed to keep the public informed about developments at the Foxdenton site has been launched.

The latest information about work taking place at the 109-acre site, due to be called Broadway Green, will be available as well as a way to contact the developers.

The website includes details of the proposed business park, opportunities for office space, business and commercial development, family housing plans and the creation of new open spaces, including a community park, on site.

Mike Coulter, of developers Foxdenton LLP said: “It’s always been intention to keep everyone informed. The website gives everyone direct and easy access to ongoing developments and everything that is scheduled to happen.”

The controversial scheme at Foxdenton is a joint venture between Foxdenton LLP and Oldham Council.

Outline plans for the creation of 500 new homes, a 20-acre community park and industrial area were approved earlier this year, with the development aiming to create 1,500 new jobs.

There will be additional major highway improvements.

The launch coincided with a public event, held at Kingfisher School on Thursday last week, displaying the proposals from housebuilders Countryside and Redrow to build the first 210 homes on the site.

Feedback

Speaking about the event, a Redrow Homes (Lancashire) spokesperson said: “We felt that the public consultation was balanced, fair and well attended so we’d like to thank all those who came along and gave their opinions.

“We will consider all the feedback when finalising our plans.”

Councillor Dave Hibbert, cabinet member for housing, planning and transport, said: “This new website will help to keep people informed about everything that is planned and enable them to have their say and ask questions.

“The input of local residents will be absolutely vital in helping us to get the details of this scheme right and maximise the benefit to them.”
