PROUD Margaret Lees celebrates her 100th birthday today, surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs Lees lives in Chadderton Total Care nursing home. She has three children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Rita Barnes, her eldest daughter, said: “The things dearest to her heart have always been her family and her church.
“Up to recent years she would help to clean at Corpus Christi in Chadderton, where she was married.
“She has always been very straight talking and independent — a giver, not a taker, a totally loyal mum.”
Margaret’s working life included jobs as a confectioner, ironer, Disney doll painter, handbag maker and cleaner.
