A VICTIM of an allegedly cruel and sadistic partner is said to have worried staff at her Oldham school by appearing with bruises on her face several times.

The head teacher of the school told a trial jury he had seen her three times with what appeared to be injuries, and she had lost almost two stone in weight.

The head said she had struck him as unusual, in that she forged no real friendships and kept to herself.

Other staff said the woman, who cannot be identified, always wore trousers and long-sleeved tops whatever the weather.

One said the 28 year old, alleged to have been forced to text her then-partner Iqbal Ali constantly about her every move, always seemed in a “massive hurry” to get away at the end of her school day.

Manchester Crown Court heard her injuries, allegedly caused by Ali, were all explained different ways.

Ali, of Broadway, Chadderton pleads not guilty to 10 charges including two of raping the woman - one of four alleged victims, all women with whom he had relationships and who, it is claimed, were subject to physical, psychological and sexual abuse over a decade.

When interviewed by police, the same chilling picture emerged of a possessive, jealous sadist who liked to control his women.

The 28 year old — his final victim — was so badly injured she could have died but for emergency hospital surgery. The worst of her injuries - which included scalds and burns - were caused by being choked to the point of unconsciousness, the court was told.

Ali pleads not guilty to 13 counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, four of rape, two of inflicting grievous bodily harm, two of indecent assault, two of common assault and two of possessing an imitation firearm.
