NORTH Chadderton School could be named the best in the country at the Times Educational Supplement’s annual schools awards at the Grovesnor House Hotel in London on Tuesday, May 19.


The Chadderton Hall Road school is shortlisted in the secondary school category. The winner will go forward for the overall school of the year award along with the best primary, early years and alternative provision schools.


GCSE PE students from The Radclyffe School took part in mountain biking at Dovestone reservoir. The Hunt Lane secondary also holds its Year 9 parents evening at 6pm tomorrow.


HELP keep Chadderton clean by taking part in a community litter pick on Saturday. Volunteers should meet at South Chadderton Methodist Church, Thompson Lane, at 9.45am.


WHITEGATE End Primary School, Butterworth Lane, holds free community gardening sessions every Tuesday from 6pm until dusk. Children must be accompanied by an adult.



THE Friends of Burnley Lane and Laburnum Avenue group received £250 from Voluntary Action Oldham to help transform the communal alley behind their homes.



PLANNING permission has been granted for a two-storey side and rear extension at 9 Vorlich Drive and a single-storey side extension at 90 Birch Avenue.

THE general election is over — but the excitement continues at Radclyffe School, Hunt Lane. Year 10 students have filmed their campaign videos for the positions of head boy and girl, and gifted and talented ambassador.
