Normal surface will be resumed... as soon as Tony moves his motor

THERE’S something strangely unfinished about the road under Tony Stafford’s car
WHEN Antony Strafford returned from a fortnight abroad to see his Hollinwood street had been resurfaced he was delighted. Until he looked under his car...
The whole of Scholes Drive, off Broadway, had been resurfaced - except for the bit under his car!
“When I saw the work had been done I thought it was great,” said Tony. “It had been in a terrible condition with lots of potholes. I’m just baffled the council didn’t wait until they could do the full job. They certainly didn't want to wait for the car to be moved.”
A council spokesperson said when contractors prepared the road for resurfacing there were no vehicles parked on it. But when they returned next day the car had been parked and they couldn’t find whose it was.
The council asked residents not to park in the road while they finished the job today.
