A 31-YEAR-OLD Chadderton woman will put her looks and personality on the line for Manchester in a UK beauty pageant.

Claire Renton was crowned Beauty of Manchester 2015 by Beauty of the UK, which stages the event to boost women nationwide. Claire will now compete with 30 other regional beauties at the pageant in Chorley on October 25 - and if she wins she will take to the catwalk in Spain to battle for the world crown.

Claire, a carer, says she was bitten by the beauty pageant bug last year after entering a pageant and being crowned “Miss Charity”.

“I had so much fun doing them and love the charity side of it all so I thought I’d enter this one and see how far I’d get,” she explained. “I’m so excited. I’ve put my all into it, especially with the charity work.”

Claire is raising funds and awareness for a number of charities including the Rays of Sunshine children’s charity which brightens the lives of seriously ill children.

Claire will be interviewed by pageant judges then compete in four rounds. She will also be judged on her fund-raising efforts
