PUPILS at a Chadderton primary school who struggle to use the stairs are closer to having a chairlift to take the strain.
The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation has presented Corpus Christi school in Stanley Road, with £2,000 to help pay for the installation of a new lift. The school has been raising money for a lift for months.
Chris Hanson, headteacher at Corpus Christi RC Primary School, said: “The installation allows us to ensure the school is fully accessible for both adults and children with additional physical needs. It also makes the school much safer, especially in a fire or other incident that requires a rapid exit.”
