Teafest appeal brewing nicely for cancer charity

AFTER battling back to health following a brain tumour operation, a Chadderton mum is turning her attention to raising money for a charity helping others in the same fight.

Julie Randles (51) was shocked when diagnosed with a brain tumour in March 2015.

She had an operation to remove the growth and is now recovering. Now she is determined to help raise money for Brainstrust, a brain tumour charity that offered her information and support.

Julie, a grandmother, will host a “teafest” fundraiser at her home in Kensington Avenue on February 22 to raise awareness and money.

The tea party will have cakes, drinks and a raffle, is part of Brainstrust’s Teafest appeal, in which fund raisers come up with a cuppa-related event to raise money.

The initiative is being driven by Roberts’ family member and breast cancer survivor Lindsay Occleston.
