A CHADDERTON GP surgery was rated as “good” following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
CH Medical, at Fields New Road Primary Care Centre, was rated as “good” in all categories, including safety, effectiveness and care.
The surgery was also noted to have two areas of “outstanding” practice, including employing a practice nurse with a specialist responsibility for older patients who could carry out annual health checks for the over 70s, look holistically at physical, psychological and social health and take the lead on dementia.
A dedicated GP also visited a nearby 146-bed nursing home one morning each week to provide continuity of care and speak to relatives.
The report said: “The practice had good facilities and was well equipped to treat patients and meet their needs.”
The surgery, which at the time of inspection had more than 7,800 registered patients, was told it should put in place a system to ensure audits requiring a second cycle are identified and improvements are monitored.
