Project Management Apprentice (Business Admin)

Rochdale Development Agency (RDA), acting on behalf of Rochdale Council is responsible for the promotion of the economic well-being of Rochdale borough.  The Agency works in partnership with the Council, the private sector and other stakeholders to deliver new economic investment, physical development and associated jobs for the benefit of the local community.

The purpose of this Apprenticeship is support the Town Hall and HAZ Project teams in developing and delivering the project management process and associated activities, whilst completing an agreed Apprenticeship qualification.

The Council are undertaking an ambitious restoration and re-modelling of its Grade I Town Hall, which has been successful in attracting a stage 1 award of £688k from the Heritage Lottery Fund and is working towards a stage 2 ward of £8m, additionally the Council, in partnership with Historic England, the RDA and others, have been awarded Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) status for the southern part of Rochdale town centre. The purpose of this apprenticeship is support the Town Hall and HAZ Project teams in developing and delivering the project management process and associated activities, whilst completing an agreed apprenticeship qualification. The post holder will however have the opportunity to support the RDA and Rochdale Council’s wider Rochdale town centre regeneration activity.

Desired qualifications

  • 4 GCSE grades A-C / 9-4 or equivalent, including English and mathematics
  • Possess a good understanding of social media and IT applications
  • Able to develop a thorough understanding of the RDA’s formal project management systems and capabilities
