Salary: £16,224 a year Per Year

Location: Porritt Street Bury Lancashire BL9 6HJ
Hours: Monday - Friday, Shifts to be confirmed (Expected Start time to be around 8.00 am). Total hours per week: 39 hours a week

You will be the servicing or refurbishing grinding machines by interpreting drawings or manuals and planning the work to ensure the right tools, equipment and resources are available to complete the task to the required specifications. Fitters are required ensure on completion of the task the machine or system operates correctly.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The Churchill Machine Tool Company is a precision manufacturing and refurbishment company for a wide range of industries worldwide based in Bury, Greater Manchester. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with our customers and meeting their demands.

Replace, repair or remove components in mechanical equipment and ensure its return to operational condition.
Diagnose and determine the cause of faults in mechanical equipment.
Assembling components to produce equipment, machine or system - in full or part.
Handing over completed assemblies or machines, including storage and commissioning.
Interpreting and following drawings, diagrams or specifications for required component or assembly.
Manual handling and lifting equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts.
Tooling and maintenance.
Quality control and inspection.
Documentation and reporting.
Health and safety.

You will be supported to undertake recognised qualifications whilst gaining on the job experience. As an apprentice engineering fitter, you will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced engineers and learn the skills required to maintain, repair, install and commission machines.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training will take place both on-site at The Churchill Machine Tool Company Ltd and weekly day release at the Rochdale Training.
