>>> WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? The Adult MHFA Two Day training teaches people how to identify, understand and help others who may be experiencing a mental health issues. The Adult Mental Health First Aider course can be attended by anyone aged 16 and over, whether you wish to become an appointed Mental Health First Aider at your place of work or wish to support your family and friends who may be experiencing mental health issues. >>> WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THE COURSE? The course will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis, and potentially stop a crisis from happening. You will learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill health and will develop the skills and confidence to approach and support others while keeping yourself safe. You will learn how to empower others to access the support they might need for recovery or successful management of symptoms. You will also gain an understanding of how to support positive wellbeing and tackle stigma in the world around you. >>> WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY INSTRUCTORS? Every Mental Health First Aid course is delivered by quality assured MHFA Instructors who have attended the same, official MHFA England Instructor Training programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, and have been trained to keep people safe and supported while they learn. A collaborative, professional, respectful and confidential learning environment is guaranteed, along with warm, friendly, inclusive facilitation from trained Mental Health First Aid England Instructor Members. Paul Wolstenholme is a psychotherapist in training and works passionately in the areas of mental health, wellbeing and personal development. Rich Johnson is the Training Services Manager at Tameside, Oldham & Glossop Mind, who delivers a wide range of mental health training including adult and youth Mental Health First Aid, Connect 5 and Workplace Wellbeing. >>> WHAT WILL I GET FROM THE COURSE? Everyone who completes the course will receive: - A copy of the official MHFA manual and workbook; - A certificate from MHFA England showing that they are a qualified Mental Health First Aider; and ​- An MHFA branded tote bag, pen, lanyard and badge. >>> ARE REFRESHMENTS INCLUDED? We will provide tea, coffee, snacks and water on both days. For lunch you are welcome to bring your own, purchase something from the adjacent supermarket or choose from a wide range of eat in and take-away establishments nearby.
