With more than a decade of experience, the band has become a leading voice of contemporary afrobeat, blending the legacy of Fela Kuti with Latin American rhythms, jazz, funk, and a strong political and social identity. Formed in Santiago, Chile, Newen Afrobeat is known for its explosive live performances, driven by a solid horn section, hypnotic percussion, and lyrics that address themes of identity, resistance, memory, and collective consciousness. Their sound bridges African roots with the urban pulse of modern Latin America.
