BARNSLEY BOUND: Lee Johnnson
BARNSLEY have unveiled Lee Johnson as their new head coach, after agreeing a compensation deal with Athletic.
Johnson has signed a three-year contract at Oakwell, where he is to be joined by his former assistant Tommy Wright.
The Tykes had been without a boss since sacking Danny Wilson last month and a deal was finalised today, allowing the 33-year-old to take charge ahead of his new club's visit to Gillingham on Saturday.
Dean Holden has been placed in temporary charge at Athletic “for the immediate future”, a statement on the club's website read. He will be assisted in that role by club captain Adam Lockwood.
