HOLOCAUST Memorial Day was commemorated with a variety of events across Oldham yesterday.
The international event urges everyone to remember the victims of the Nazi murder of six million Jews, as well as later mass murders in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
Mahdlo Youth Zone in Egerton Street hosted a memorial event organised with Oldham Council and Oldham Interfaith Forum. Oldham Theatre Workshop performed and held workshop sessions.
Oldham College held a range of activities throughout the week, to allow students to reflect on the Holocaust and persecution.
Students at Radclyffe School in Chadderton were inspired by a “Don’t Stand By” theme, which called on people to consider their responsibility not to stand by in the face of discrimination.
