Naylor hails Mighty Mo

HAT-TRICK HERO . . . Mo Agoro.
SCOTT Naylor has saluted the choice of Mo Agoro as Kingstone Press Championship One player of the week.
The accolade was handed to the 21-year-old Oldham right-winger on the strength of his hat-trick of tries in Sunday's 58-2 rout of South Wales Scorpions at Whitebank.
Naylor reckons Agoro is "on fire" at the moment: "He's producing his best rugby since he came to the club at the beginning of last season. He's scoring from all over the field, working hard and doing loads of carries.
"I rate him in the top three players in the Oldham team and one of the most impressive features of his game is that he's coming up with the goods every week. He's a confidence player - and at the moment he's on fire.”
Roughyeds full-back Steven Nield, skipper Lewis Palfrey and back-row forward George Tyson were also recognised alongside Agoro in the divisional team of the week.
Team of the week —
Nield (OLDHAM); Agoro (OLDHAM), Watson (Hunslet), Solomona (London Skolars), Saltonstall (York); Smith (York), Palfrey (OLDHAM); Williams (London Skolars), March (Hunslet), Brennan (York), Tyson (OLDHAM), Oakes (Hunslet), Aldous (York).
David Cookson didn’t train last night because he was unwell, but everyone else was said to be fit apart from Adam Files (knee), who looks like being out for the rest of the season.
Selection of the side to take on resurgent Gateshead Thunder in the North-East on Sunday (3pm) will be made later in the week.
Naylor put his players through a tough training session last night, throwing them up against the under-20s.
Regarding his search for another back, he said: “I have someone in mind, but it’s gone no further than that and it’s unlikely to just yet.”
