AT THE DOUBLE . . . Danny Langtree went in twice for Oldham against Whitehaven
Oldham RL 26, Whitehaven 18
RELEGATION-haunted Oldham secured a much-needed victory over fellow Kingstone Press Championship strugglers Whitehaven at Bower Fold.
Danny Langtree crossed twice for the Roughyeds, with Jamel Chisholm, Phil Joy and Kieran Gill also going in. Sam Wood landed three goals.
After holding an eight-point lead at the break, Oldham maintained the advantage in the second half to record only their fifth league success of the season.
Stephen Fox, Ryan Duffy and Jessie Joe Parker touched down for Whitehaven and Ed Chamberlain kicked three goals.
The win moved Scott Naylor's Oldham side to within a point of today's opponents, who sit 10th in the table.
