Springhead have a season to savour

SPRINGHEAD FC can reflect on a successful season in men’s, women’s and junior football.
The men’s first team, for so long challenging for top spot, eventually finished runners-up behind Gregorians in the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League.
On the junior front, Springhead won two titles in the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League and cup competition.
The under-15s clinched the championship and in Adam Monks boasted the league’s player of the year.
Springhead under-13s won the league and cup double, while the under-14s received the fair play award.
Toby Ferguson, from the under-12s, was named the league’s player of the year and he helped his side to the final of the League Cup, where they lost to Chadderton Juniors FC.
Meanwhile, the women’s section continues to thrive and they finished fourth in the Manchester and Cheshire League.
Springhead were also honoured behind the scenes as Vicky Cunningham picked up a club official of the year award in the Rochdale and Oldham Youth League.
