FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY'S unbeaten record in the Evo-Stik League Division One North was ended by Tameside rivals Droylsden yesterday, writes Simon Smedley.
The Bloods triumphed 2-0 at the Butchers Arms thanks to first-half goals from Dominic Smith and Liam Caddick.
It was a particularly eventful second half, with Droylsden's Alex Frost striking the crossbar soon after the restart.
Mossley defender Jamie McLellan was then shown a straight red card after hauling back Ciaran Kilheeney as he charged into the box.
Mossley 'keeper Oliver Martin saved Kilheeney's resultant spot-kick.
The Lilywhites return to action on Saturday when they host Hallmark Security League side 1874 Northwich in the FA Cup first qualifying round.
