Noi hails Ellender triumph

Boxing: JACK Ellender has made it through to the National Schoolboy finals.

The Oldham Boxing and Personal Development Centre star goes for glory at Cedar Mount Boxing Centre in Gorton on Saturday.

Jack (13) will battle it out in the 36kg category after seeing off Chris Toulson at Everton Sports Centre.

He out-foxed his taller North-East opponent during a performance which saw him put Toulson under relentless pressure.

Trainer Eric Noi said: “Yet again Jack utilised his mobility and punching accuracy to outscore a tough opponent.”


PERRY King (15) enjoyed a perfect warm-up for the upcoming Junior ABA Championships, by earning a unanimous points victory over Jack Lloyd.
A controlled display from the Darnhill and Heywood ABC fighter, mixed with some impressive combinations, was too much for his Wigan-based opponent to handle.
