NETBALL:
GUILTY of slow starts in some matches this season, Oldham Netball Club quickly put the pedal to the metal in their latest National Premier League match against visitors Oaksway.
Boosted by the return of Helen Housby from international duty, they raced into a 5-0 lead after only two minutes at Hathershaw Sports College.
High-flying Oldham never looked back, eventually winning 64-39 to maintain their 100 per cent record.
Kathryn Turner and Rachel Henry moved the ball quickly into Housby at goal shooter, and a high-scoring opening quarter saw Oldham lead 19-8.
Oldham lost some of their intensity towards the end, which allowed Oaksway more opportunities, and the final quarter ended in a draw.
Hallas: “I was pleased with the performance and we are building momentum going into a crucial game against New Cambell, who always provide tricky opposition, at the end of the month.”
