One piece of rubbish campaign
'One piece of rubbish' is an initiative which encourages everyone to pick up at least one piece of rubbish every day.
During October 2017, all Oldham residents that do will be entered into a prize draw to win a three-month premium all-inclusive membership to Oldham Community Leisure (OCL).
Every day in October we’ll also pick up a piece of rubbish and post it on Twitter.
Residents/businesses are also being encouraged to nominate a different person or organisation in Oldham to do the same every working day in October.
The ' one piece of rubbish' method
- Pick upthe rubbish – in front of your house, office, school, park, etc.
- Take a photo – or a selfie, or a video, which includes the rubbish you have picked up. Be creative and have fun.
- Throw it in a bin – It can be paper, last night’s fast food or fizzy drinks cans.
- Post it on Twitter– Using the #1PieceofRubbish hashtag and where you have picked it up. Then challenge five friends to do the same.
