Preparing for Halloween with ‘Spooktacular’ event

Prepare to be frightened in the town centre this Halloween as the annual Oldham Spooktacular event is back - and it promises to be scarier than ever.
With lots of spooky goings-on in Parliament Square, including Epico the fearsome dragon, eerie trees that spring into life and a group of giant drumming ants, it’s a day not to be missed.
Visitors can get up close to spiders, snakes and creepy crawlies with Ranger Rob’s animal experience and can also take part in chilling arts and crafts sessions.
There will also be opportunities to meet the well-known illustrated character ‘The Gruffalo’ at various intervals throughout the day at: 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Councillor Jean Stretton, Oldham Council Leader, said: “Halloween is a brilliant fun time for families, so get yourselves into the spooky spirit with our Oldham Spooktacular event in the town centre – it’s a fantastic day out for residents of all ages.
“Don’t forget to pop into Tommyfield Market for a pumpkin and your Halloween costume.”
Remember you can park for free for up to 3 hours on all Council-owned town centre car parks every Saturday and Sunday. Just take a ticket from the pay and display machine and place it on your vehicle dashboard.
Oldham Spooktacular is taking place on Saturday 28 October, 11am—4pm, this free event, organised by Oldham Council, provides families with a jam-packed day full of scary activities and frightening fun.
