A Level 3 business group F16012 prepared and carried out various activities on Tuesday, 28 November, to raise funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

Sulbia Khanam-Quddus, Oldham College tutor said: “This was for one of their units, Unit 19 Developing Teams in Business, but we also did the fundraising in memory of my mother-in-law, Rabeya Khanom who passed away at the Hospice two years ago.

“One group went around College collecting money using Kershaw’s collection boxes.

“Another group sold raffle tickets - the prize was a chocolate, which was won by a tutor in Caring Professions.

“The final group set up a tuckshop and sold snacks on the ground floor foyer (opposite Jobshop) to raise money.

“They all worked extremely hard and raised £189 from the tuckshop and raffle.

“The collection box money still needs to be counted and Dr Kershaw’s will do this and let us know the overall total.

“At the end of the day, two of the students attended the Hospice with myself and we handed over the monies to Angela in the fundraising team at the Hospice.”
