Plight of Rohingya in Burma
Naseeb Abbas, a bus driver from Oldham, has been leading a team who have raised over £100,000 for refugees and families in Burma.
After witnessing the plight of Rohingya in Burma first hand, the '1 Vision' team, led by Naseeb Abbas from First Manchester, have been fundraising money so that food packs and shelters can be provided for families that need it most.
The team travelled again to Bangladesh to deliver the food packs on 2 December. The food parcels contain items like flour, rice, wheat, pasta, lentils, sugar, sardines, powdered milk and other essentials. Donations of just £25 will provide a food parcel and a blanket for a family of five for two weeks and £80 covers the cost for a shelter for a full family.
Naseeb Abbas, driver for First Manchester, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the donations we have received so far and we have already surpassed our original target.
"When we arrive in Bangladesh we will provide regular online updates from our processing factory and distribution centre to confirm the exact numbers of food parcels delivered by us each day."
