Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Crompton and Royton have raised £3,425.50 with their Christmas Sleigh collection

The Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Clubs of Crompton and Royton, along with the help of the people in the areas, have raised a total of £3,425.50 this year with their Christmas collection.

In the New Year, the clubs will be distributing the money raised to local charities around the Shaw and Royton areas, and to organisations who support activities and need financial support.

This year, the Rotary Club had a new sleigh for Father Christmas, which generated a tremendous response from visitors, despite the short time they had to finish it. 

Rotarians said: “We were delighted with the positive response from our young visitors and will improve its look over the coming year.”

The sleigh was placed at Elk Mill Shopping Centre for two weekends.
