Greater Manchester Police have confirmed the recovery of the body of a woman from a reservoir just outside Oldham.
Officers were called to Dovestone Reservoir just after 2.10pm on Monday (April 16) to reports that a body had been found in the water.
When they arrived, along with other emergency services including the air ambulance, they discovered the body of a woman thought to be in her 50s.
Officers remained at the scene for much of Monday while they continued their investigation with an area of the beauty spot being cordoned off.
Police have added they are not treating the death of the woman as suspicious.
