Investigation into Hollins Road fire

There was a blaze at a mid-terraced house in Hollins Road last night
An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire in Oldham last night (Monday).
At first it was thought the blaze, at a mid-terraced house in Hollins Road, had broken out with people trapped inside the property.
However, once crews arrived they discovered that wasn’t the case.
Firefighters from Ashton, Philips Park in Manchester and Penketh near Warrington attended the scene.
They used six breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.
Crews were at the scene for two-and-a-half-hours with part of Hollins Road being cordoned off while they brought it under control and eventually extinguished the blaze.
An investigation has now been launched to try and determine the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, as the moorland fires on Saddleworth Moor and Winter Hill near Bolton rumble on well into a second week, the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are now being stretched alarmingly thanks to a number of additional smaller blazes over the past 24 hours.
