UPDATED: No suspicious circumstances after man dies in Werneth blaze

Police were alerted by the fire service to a fire at a property on Nazeby Walk
Police have issued an update after a man died following a fire in Werneth yesterday afternoon (Friday).
Shortly before 1pm today (Thursday) police were alerted by the fire service to a fire at a property on Nazeby Walk.
On arrival, officers found a man in his 50s being treated by paramedics.
Unfortunately despite their best efforts the man sadly died at the scene.
A joint investigation with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been launched to understand the circumstances behind the fire.
However, it’s not thought that there are any suspicious circumstances at this time.
