Jobs fair returns to Ashton

Date published: 10 September 2018

The annual Tameside Job Fair is returning to Ashton and jobseekers will have a range of opportunities from local organisations to find out about.

Hosted by Jigsaw Homes, in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and the Tameside Council employment and skills team, the event on September 21 (the day after the Get Oldham Working jobs fair) will feature stalls from local employers with live vacancies and information about potential training opportunities.

The employers attending cover multiple employment sectors including retail, construction, hospitality, health and social care, security and administration.

Support in searching for jobs and careers advice will be provided on the day by the National Careers Service, Tameside ACE and Google Garage.

Employers attending this year’s event include: Tameside Council, Ikea, Dunelm, Screwfix, Betfred, the Village Hotel, Robertson Construction, G4S, Screwfix, Able Care and Support Services, Reed and Task Rabbit.

Cllr Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council Executive Member for Lifelong Learning, said: “Our previous Tameside Job Fairs have been extremely successful, with plenty of people able to find permanent employment or access high quality training opportunities.

“There are some fantastic job opportunities available from our employers in Tameside and we are delighted to continue partnering with them at this year’s event.”

Anyone planning to attend should bring plenty of copies of their CV and to dress as they would for a job interview.

Tameside Jobs Fair is being held at Jigsaw Homes Group, Cavendish 249, Cavendish Street, Ashton, OL6 7AT, on Friday, September 21 from 11am to 2pm.
