UPDATED: Former newpaper base sold for £400,000

Date published: 17 October 2018

The former home of the Chronicle newspaper has been sold for £400,000 at auction, more than a year since the company went into administration.

The building, which sits on Union Street in Oldham, was home to the newspaper for 163 years before it closed down on August 31, 2017.

It has since been bought out by the company which owns Revolution 96.2, and we returned online at: www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk.

The building was described on Auction House North West’s website, the company who sold it in Bolton yesterday (Tuesday), as “Commercial Property”.

The four-storey building, which includes offices and a massive room once used to house the printing presses, was sold as “Prominent Office Building 33,708 sq ft with Development Potential Including Rear Car Park.”
