Man charged with killing Joe O’Brien appears in court

Joe O'Brien died after being stabbed outside the Royal Oak Hotel in Failsworth
One man from Moston, accused of murdering Joe O’Brien during a fight outside an Oldham pub during the early hours of Easter Sunday has appeared in court.
21-year old Momodou Jallow, from Ashley Lane, appeared at Manchester Crown Court this morning (10th May) charged with murder in connection with an incident outside the Royal Oak Hotel in Failsworth.
Three men were left with serious injuries following the fight, including 24-year old Joe O’Brien who died a short time later in hospital from stab wounds.
Another man was also stabbed during the same incident.
Jallow didn’t enter a plea during a brief court hearing, he was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 14th October.
Two other men, 22-year old Daniel Kamara, from Beswick Drive, and a 17-year old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with section 18 assault and violent disorder in connection with the same incident.
