Global Auctioneers chief Marcel Duffy has once again proved that he has a heart of gold.
Not for the first time, Marcel has come to the rescue with vital fund-raising and donations, this time handing 100 hooded top tracksuits to Depaul UK, who work with young homeless people in Oldham and Rochdale.
Peter Morgan, from the DePaul chairity, said: “Marcel is aware of the work I do for Depaul UK with young homeless people in Oldham and Rochdale.
“I spoke with him about our projects and the “A bed every night” initiative, which is funded by the Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and managed by my colleague Dean on behalf of Oldham Council.
“Dean works and supports directly with every street homeless person in Oldham and has had a massive impact on the rough sleeping community.
“A couple of weeks ago Marcel called me and asked me if we would be interested in a donation of clothing, and of course I said ‘yes’.
“I have now collected over £3,000 worth (100 hooded top tracksuits) of brand new hooded tops and tracksuits for our rough sleepers and homeless young people.
“Marcel donated this simply because he wanted to help and do good during the Christmas season for others.
“Thank you, Marcel.”
