Teachers from a school in Oldham came together to create a fun heart-warming video providing a message of hope to students during this lockdown period.

A total of 105 staff members from an array of departments at Oasis Academy Oldham all took part to create a nine-minute video which was the idea of Senior Pastoral Leader, Claire Brown, who was inspired by a creative video her son’s primary school had put together.

The video opens with Principal Dominique Gobbi marching up the stairs to High School Musical single ‘We’re all in this together’, and a picture collage message which reads; ‘We are all in this together. Stay safe, stay home, we miss you.’

The video continues as staff members create messages of positivity and creative short funny clips, including a member of staff dressed up as a hippo hoovering her garden.

Principal Gobbi said: “We are missing our student community enormously, we talk every day about our 'just cause' at Oasis Academy Oldham: 'Creating a Community of Chances and Choices'.

“Without physically seeing one another in school every day, the staff wanted to find another way of fostering community spirit and this video was the result!

"I really hope that the students enjoy seeing our staff with their families in their own homes and it reminds them of the importance of staying safe at home themselves.”

The video concludes by highlighting the need to stay safe, stay home, save lives and that their teachers will see them soon.

Claire Brown, Senior Pastoral Leader at Oasis Academy Oldham, and the staff member behind the idea, added: “During these unprecedented times Adam and I wanted the students at Oasis Academy Oldham to know that the staff were thinking of them.

"We hope this has brought a smile to our students faces and their families.

"Hopefully this video shows our students and our community that ‘we’re all in this together’.”

The video has gained over 1,300 views on YouTube and can be seen below.
