Kind-hearted PPE donation to Oldham Council

CarePoint donated 10 pallets containing alcohol content hand sanitisers, anti-bacterial alcohol wipes and reusable machine washable face masks

Oldham Council was delighted to take delivery of a £100,000 of Covid Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) from a local business.

CarePoint, a provider of community-based support and housing services within Oldham, donated 10 pallets containing alcohol content hand sanitisers, anti-bacterial alcohol wipes and reusable machine washable face masks.

The equipment will go to a range of front line staff in Oldham including care homes and social care workers.

CarePoint work with a number of different organisations to make a positive contribution in supporting and housing the most vulnerable in our community.

The firm reached out to Oldham after they read that the town was suffering some of the highest coronavirus testing rates in the country.

Zeb Iqbal from CarePoint said: “People I know have lost loved ones due to this unprecedented pandemic and so anything we can do to help is important.

"CarePoint would like to thank Oldham Council for the unprecedented effort to keep the people of Oldham safe.

"We have seen at first hand the fantastic service and work that has been delivered by Oldham Council and its front-line staff."

Councillor Arooj Shah, Oldham Council Deputy Leader, said: “On behalf of Oldham residents I would like to thank CarePoint for making this sizeable donation of PPE equipment.

“I would also like to thank Chadderton based firm DP Firth Transport who delivered the ten pallets.

“We are still in the tough battle with the Coronavirus but it is selfless donations like this that can help us win the battle so thank you.”
