Oldham Chronicle is back in print

Date published: 19 January 2021

Your Oldham Chronicle is back in print this week with a look back at the events of 2020.

It's the second edition of the Chronicle to look back on a year in review, and is available to pick up FREE across the borough.

Inside the packed 40-page edition, you'll find a potted history of your Oldham Chronicle, from our humble beginnings in 1854, to the 24-hour breaking news site of today.

What a year we've been through together.  As the global pandemic continues, we can finally see light at the end of the tunnel with a national vaccination programme being rolled out across the UK.

Over the last year, we've heard harrowing local stories, we've been on the front line with staff at the Royal Oldham Hospital, and we've looked on with dismay at our damaged local economy.  The personal toll has been unbrearable for some who have lost friends and loved ones to the virus.

But 2020 has been so much more than the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Oldham Chronicle has continued to document the real-life stories of Oldhamers.  The highs and lows of life in the town, from the memorable, to the quirky, and the entertaining.

It's been an interesting year to say the least for Latics and Roughyeds, and you'll find a review of their fortunes on the back pages.

From Wednesday, you can pick up your FREE copy of the Oldham Chronicle 2020 Review at local branches of Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Co-op and Sainsburys - as well as scores of other outlets.

It's great to be back in print.  And as for a more regular print edition of the 'Chron'?  Watch this space.
