From rain... to snow! Hour by hour forecast for Oldham

Date published: 21 January 2021

After days of rain, heavy snow fell across Oldham yesterday evening and the wintry showers continued overnight.

Storm Christoph continued to be felt across the borough, with plummeting temperatures turning the persistant rain into snow in places.

This time, the snow wasn't confined to high ground, as flakes fell across Oldham, Greater Manchester and many parts of northern England.  5cm of snow was measured in Oldham.

Jon Baylis of @chadweather on Twitter, who has a weather station in Chadderton, described snowflakes like "dinner plates" in a video posted last night

The band of snow should move away throughout the day today, leaving a mixture of rain and wintry showers.

The Snake Pass has been closed due to snow, though the Woodhead Pass remains open
