Parents warned about suspicious vape liquids

Date published: 08 February 2021

Police have issued a warning to local parents as an investigation continues into the sale of ‘suspicious’ vape liquids.

The warning comes after a man was questioned, arrested and later released over the weekend following the discovery of vape liquid making items in his car.

A post on the GMP Chadderton Facebook page read: “Officers from the Chadderton Neighbourhood Team arrested a male adult in South Chadderton on the evening of Friday, February 5, 2021.

“Initially stopped and searched due to the smell of cannabis emanating from his vehicle, officers swiftly located numerous ingredients inside the vehicle which can be used to make vape liquid along with a large quantity of cash, a knife and several mobile phones.

“He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B, possession of an offensive weapon and money laundering.

“The male has since been released under investigation pending formal identification of the items seized.

“Worryingly we are seeing more and more youths using e-cigarettes with suspicious vape liquids.

“Please be mindful of what your children are using and where they are sourcing these liquids from.
