Teenagers charged following Waterloo Park assault

A 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old male were charged yesterday (Wednesday) with robbery
Two teenagers have been charged following an assault on a 16-year-old in an Ashton park which took place shortly before Christmas.
A post on the GMP Tameside North and East Facebook page read: "Some more news from Sgt Goddard and his Tameside Volume Crime Team.
"A 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old male were charged yesterday (Wednesday) with robbery, and the 15-year-old old with an additional charge of handling stolen goods.
"Both will now appear at Tameside Youth Court on April 6.
"These charges relate back to an incident in Waterloo Park, off Oldham Road in Ashton, on the evening of December 13, 2020 whereby a 16-year-old old male was assaulted suffering head injuries, and property was stolen.
"The additional handling stolen goods charge relates to an item recovered during the subsequent investigation."
