Say hello to the newest, and definitely one of the cutest, members of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team.
His name is Ace and he is a 10 week old collie and he’s already destined to become the community’s Ace of Hearts.
With his handler Rick Beswick, the adorable pup will be starting the intensive training process to become a Search Dog.
Said OMRT leader Rob Tortoiseshell: “Rick had been an active team member for more than ten years now and this will be his first time training a search dog.
“It’s a long process and we’ll keep you all updated along the way.
"But for now we wish both Rick and Ace the best of luck!”
* The Chronicle has “adopted” Ace and you’ll be able to follow his progress online and in our next edition, published on Friday, August 20.
