Rescue Team doctor Andy Taylor receives a cheque for £1,122.79 from Lay Minister Duncan Ross and Harvest Queen Amelie Betts
Oldham Mountain Rescue Team doctor Andy Taylor attended a Sunday service at Friezland Parish Church and gave a short talk on the team’s work - and received a surprise cash windfall.
He was presented with a cheque for £1,122.79 by Lay Minister Duncan Ross and Harvest Queen Amelie Betts.
The money had been collected in part by collections at services and fund-raising efforts by Amelie and her friends.
OMRT team leader Rob Tortoiseshell said: “We are very grateful to church parishioners and especially Amelie and her friends for their efforts and generosity.
“It’s kind acts of community spirit like this that help our team remain operational.
"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated."
