Oldham pays respects to fallen heroes

The Civic Centre was lit up with poppies last night
Oldham fell silent this morning at 11am to mark Armistice Day and pay respect to those who have given their lives for our country.

Oldham Council invited staff to take part in the 2 minute silence. A short service was held on the Civic Centre steps

Shoppers in Spindles Town Sqaure Shopping Centre also fell silent to pay their respects in Central Square.

Oldham College staff and students marked Remembrance Day at a ceremony in the Main Quad on campus

Staff and pupils at Blue Coat School fell silent during their morning break

Children paid their respects in Chadderton
