Council leader 'in tears' at Keir Starmer mob intimidation video

Sir Kier Starmer was surrounded by protesters
Oldham Council Leader, Arooj Shah has said she was 'in tears' as she watched the video of Labour Leader Sir Kier Starmer being confronted by angry protesters.
Yesterday, the leader of the opposition was bundled into the back of a police car after being confronted by protesters shouting "traitor" and "Jimmy Savile" at him. The Labour leader was bundled into the back of a police car as he became surrounded by an angry mob.
The incident brought fresh condemnation of the PM, with some MPs from his own party calling for Mr Johnson to issue an apology for his remarks in parliament in which he seemed to blame the Labour leader for the decision not to prosecute Jimmy Savile.
The remarks have been widely condemned as untrue, and the Prime Minister later clarified his comments, saying the Labour leader was not personally responsible.
Many - including a growing number of Conservative MPs - have called for the Prime Minister to apologise fully for the remarks.
Cllr Shah said the Prime Minister was 'peddling hate' in a post on Twitter: "Reckless lies spurted out of your mouth have real life consequences. Stop deliberately peddling hate and division. We’ve seen attacks & sadly tragic deaths of colleagues of all different political persuasions. This needs to stop!"
